Christiane

Christiane studied Latin American Studies and Cultural Studies in Berlin, with an exchange year at USP. After her graduation she worked for ten years with the German-Brazilian cooperation mainly in the scientific area in São Paulo. As a Science Manager with a great passion for international cooperation, she decided to join Apoena as the "German intruder".

Taiane

She has a PhD in Applied Linguistics from the Universidade do Vale do Rio dos Sinos with a sandwich PhD at Pennsylvania State University. She is currently a post-doctoral researcher at the Department of English and American Studies at the University of Potsdam. She joined the network to be closer to "home".

Emília

Emília has a Master's Degree in Chemistry at UFSCar. She came to Germany to work at the Fraunhofer Institute for Chemical Technology, where she has been working for 24 years as researcher. Currently, she holds the position of deputy head of the Energetic Systems department at the same institution. She decided to join the Apoena network because she believes in a more structured, focused, transparent, and reciprocal ST&I Brazil-Germany cooperation.

Felipe

Felipe holds a PhD in Chemistry (2017) from UFRJ and did a postdoc (2018-2021) at Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg, Germany, working with theoretical/computational chemistry. He was a visiting researcher at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory and the University of Wisconsin-Madison, both in the USA. As a Humboldtian, Felipe is currently an Assistant Professor at the University of Kent in Canterbury, UK. He joined the Apoena Network because he believes in the transformative role of international scientific cooperation.

Nathalia

Nathalia is a Computer Engineer and has a Master's degree in Software Engineering from USP. She came to Germany through a German Chancellor Fellowship from the Humboldt Foundation, researching internet regulation at the Centre for Global Cooperation Research at the University of Duisburg-Essen. She decided to get involved in Apoena because she believes in the importance and power of communities.

Milene

She studied Literature and Linguistics at UFOP and UFMG and did her PhD in Applied Linguistics at the University of Potsdam, Germany. As of now, she is a researcher in the ReDICo project, Researching Digital Interculturality Co-operatively, funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research. She strongly believes in the " lei natural dos encontros" (besides being a Novos Baianos fan) and this is why she decided to get involved in Apoena.

Tiago

He studied Physical Education, with a Master and PhD at Unicamp. He worked for 8 years as a professor at the University of Brasilia and is currently a Visiting Professor at the Chair of Performance Analysis and Sports Informatics of Technical University of Munich. He joined the network because he believes it is possible to expand cooperation networks between Brazil and Germany.

Communication

Silvia

Silvia studied Linguistics at UNICAMP, Journalism at Fundação Cásper Líbero and World Heritage Studies at Brandenburgische Technische Universität Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU). She is currently an advisor for Science, Technology and Innovation at the Brazilian Embassy in Berlin. Silvia joined the Apoena Network because she believes in the enormous power of science, communication and connections between people.
